CURRENT RESEARCH & WRITING

These are the projects I am currently working on, including "working abstracts" as they develop.  Any comments are welcome.

"Buy The Mile"

This is the catchall title for my examination of modern megaprojects, including the Honolulu Area Rapid Transit project.

New Courses

Project Management for Poets & Artists: Visual, audio, and narrative artists are participating in collaborative, creative efforts across a broad spectrum of industries, often in virtual space, with coworkers contributing from locations around the planet. My goal is to develop a course offering designed for students of the creative and narrative arts who need to understand the huge projects they will be part of over the course of their professional lives. Stripped down without being simple, it will be a course which translates the basics of project management into terms and concepts understandable across disciplines.

Seminar on Thomas Sowell's Basic Economics: At 90 years old, Thomas Sowell is a national treasure who has thought deeply and written eloquently about economics and social issues for decades. Basic Economics is a book which undergraduate Business Majors need to read and understand. My goal is to develop a course offering which can be delivered in a classroom or in a self-paced online format, encouraging undergraduate students to read the fifth edition of this lucid, comprehensive tome.
